Scarlett Stories:
In 2018, Mr. Something and I decided we needed to see Scarlett and Violet more frequently as we were not spending alot of time together.

So, every week we would pick them up from Preschool and take them to a playground where we would spend some time together then all have dinner at our house. The girls were a little reticent on having us hug or kiss them at first. After all, they didn't really know us very well.

Several weeks later, when Scarlett was going home one evening, she turned around, gave me a big hug and said, "Aren't you glad you got to know us, Momo?"

During our playground visits, imaginary play was a lot of fun for Scarlett.

Once when 'Bobo' and Scarlett were playing 'Police' (Scarlett) and 'Criminal' (Bobo). She had 'jailed ' Bobo and began her interrogation...

"So, if you want to get out of jail, you're going to have to tell me what you did" Scarlett said. Bobo sheepishly responded "Well, I asked my sister if I could have a drink from her bottle and she said 'No' but I did, anyway and I'm sorry."

 Scarlett then said "What else?"

"Well, I asked my mom if I could have a cookie and she said 'No' but I took one anyway - but I'm sorry." he said.

Scarlett looked at him intently, hands on her hips and leaned forward when she slowly said... "I'm... going... to.... need... something... with... a lot...of... words."

We placed a small pink "Naughty Chair" in our dining room as used it for 'time out'. The chair had never been used, however as Scarlett responded well to rules. Every time she would come to visit, the 'naughty chair' lurked in the corner. I could see that Scarlett was unnerved by it. One day, she looked at me, nodded towards the chair and said, "I don't think we are going to be needing that anymore."

Scarlett and Violet moved in with us for a short while and during that time they shared our guest room. Scarlett wasn't having a good day and was angry with everybody in the house. She went to her room and slammed the door. A few minutes later, I noticed the bedroom door was open but that she had placed a barrier ... she lined toys in the threshold of doorway in order to create separation...but not too much.

Scarlett loves music, rules, legos and order.

And shares readily with and supports her sister - even if it's not reciprocal.
